    • You can either ask your GP for a referral, or simply get in touch with us. We’ll help you find a psychiatrist who’s experience matches your treatment needs.

    Do I get assigned to a psychiatrist?
    • We’ll guide you based on your referral reason and match you with a psychiatrist who fits your needs.

    Can I choose a psychiatrist myself?
    • Yes, absolutely as long as the psychiatrist works in the field that you require help with. If you already have someone in mind, or if you have specific preferences, please let us know.

    Is everything done online?
    • Yes, all consultations are online. You can meet with your psychiatrist from home or wherever you feel most comfortable as long as it is a quiet space away from distractions.

    What do I need for an online appointment?
    • Just a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, smartphone), and an internet connection. It is preferrable if you have headphones as the sound is generally clearer.

    Is it safe and confidential?
    • Yes, your privacy is our top priority. We use secure encrypted systems like the banks to make sure all your information and sessions stay completely confidential.

    How do I book my first appointment?
    • Contact us through the website and we’ll walk you through everything. If you already have a referral from your GP, we’ll get you booked straight away.

    Do I need a referral to use Psych1?
    • You need a referral so you can claim a Medicare rebate. We can still see you without a referral however your out of pocket costs will be higher.

    Can I change my psychiatrist later if I want to?
    • Of course. If you ever feel like it’s not quite the right fit, just reach out. We’ll help you find someone you feel comfortable with.

    How do payments work?
    • We’ll explain all the costs clearly upfront. If you’re eligible for Medicare rebates, we can process the rebate back into your bank account automatically.

    What if I have tech issues during my session?
    • If something goes wrong, we’ll sort it out. We can reschedule your session later in the day or help fix any technical problems.
